Claudia knows there are complexities that arise with the accumulation of wealth. Her goal is to simplify matters for our clients and make their lives as uncomplicated as possible. With great empathy and strong listening skills, she is good at getting to the heart of the matter. She helps her clients pursue their objectives by building and managing a personalized investment strategy tailored to meeting their goals. “I will watch a client’s reaction or hear some hesitation in their voice, and I want to know what that is about,” said Claudia.
She has more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry. As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, she has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.
“On a day-to-day basis, I am on scheduled calls and meetings with clients or prospects,” said Claudia. ‘Reading and thinking is an integral part of my day. Keeping up with what is happening in the market is an essential part of being successful in this business.”
In 1985 Claudia began her career in the banking industry. Later in 1992, she became a financial advisor with Paine Webber. After 17 years, she moved to Merrill Lynch to join another team after her partner passed away. In May of 2020 she formed Bellars Harris Wealth Management. Claudia is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor degree in finance.
Active in community organizations, Claudia has served on the board of directors for Future of Hampton Roads. She is a past president of the Cape Henry Rotary Club, a member of the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council, and a past board member of the local chapter of the Financial Planning Association.
“I am originally from South Carolina, where most of my family resides. We split our time between Hampton Roads, Virginia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Jackson, Wyoming as our families continue to grow.
In addition to spending time with family, Claudia enjoys golfing, reading, and spending time with their two dogs, Aly and Mazie.
